People auditioning are asked to prepare two contrasting songs (16-32 bars of each) that display their vocal versatility and ability to portray different styles. Please bring sheet music in a binder for the accompanist. In addition, please prepare a short (one minute or so) comedic monologue or reading. Since there will be no callbacks, auditioners may be asked to learn and sing music from the show as well as do cold readings from the script. Please be prepared to stay for the duration of the audition.

Performances of the show will be on Saturday, January 23rd (our special gala night) and the afternoon of Sunday, January 24th, 2010. Rehearsals start in November ? for a full rehearsal schedule, please click on the link below and look at the conflict sheet.

The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) is actually five musicals in one, each done in the style of a different Broadway composer and each dealing with roughly the same plot: "I can't pay the rent!"

The original production featured a cast of only four actors, though our production will feature eight. We will be looking for strong character actors who can both act and sing (and dance a little!) their way through the different styles required. The Musical of Musicals is both at the same time a parody of and homage to the various styles.
