Dancing is a very competitive part of the entertainment industry.
If you can dance you might as well dance and get paid for it.
Being a dancer is very physical form artist expression and as
a dancer you get to use your physical body as your artwork.
You will have to audition as a dancer to get a role dancing
though. There are many different types of dancing these days,
some of it doesn’t even require music. There are a lot
of types of dancing like belly dancing, line dancing, break
dancing, ballroom dancing, hip-hop dancing, dirty dancing, disco
dancing, exotic dancing and more, the list is endless. Dancing
appeals to young and old alike.
When you go to a dance audition there usually will be other
dancers out there dancing. These other dancers want the same
part you are auditioning for but this is a typical challenge
of a dance audition. Your job is not to worry about these other
dancers but rather how you can leave a lasting impression on
the judges. Imagine yourself as the only dancer in the room.
You’re going to have to dance like no one is watching.
The bulk of your routine has to convey the concept that nobody
is watching. It’s about confidence and the feeling of
expression, particularly if it's a one-on-one dancing audition.
If you have a burning desire to dance you should probably check
out a dance studio. Dance studios can train aspiring dancers
to master a wide variety of dance disciplines. Any empty room
with a bare hard floor can serve as a dance studio. Now days
there are dance studios on every corner it seems.
If you are the most talented dancer auditioning at the dance
studio, your audition might not be successful. There are endless
dance auditions that you can go to in your local community.
Auditioning at dance studios is the best way to get out there.
Be prepared and dance to what you are comfortable with. Chose
a song that you enjoy dancing to as well. You want your enthusiasm
and talent to shine as well. Believe in yourself and go for
it and start auditioning to become a dancer.
Once you have decided to make a career in dance many factors
need to be addressed before you start. Although it may appear
that the fame and fortune of the most successful dancers just
came naturally, making it as in dance is hard work, requiring
a lot of discipline and ongoing training. Stardom does not happen
by accident or luck. Most successful dancers today were driven
to achieve their goals from the very beginning and did not go
to the dance studio on an impulse or whim.
